Mario Mesquita – Broker
Mario was born in the city of Torres in the south region of Brazil. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, he excelled at school and focused on Accounting and Business Management for his degree at the University of Criciuma, Santa Catarina in Brazil.
In 1985, Mario came to live in the USA, settling in New Jersey. Here he started, grew and sold a number of janitorial services companies. Eventually, as with many in the north, Mario came to Florida in 1999 in search of a warmer climate and different business opportunities.
Mario realized that real estate market in Florida was at the initial stages of rapid growth and the potential to invest was significant. He started off buying small condos and renting them out. In time, he built a sizeable investment portfolio of passive income and decided that he needed something else to keep him involved in the business community. He took his real estate exam and started to build a sizeable business based on referrals. In fact, Mario was the top selling agent at Keller Williams 3 years in a row, when he moved to Realty Associates, his successful streak continued.
Eventually, it was time for Mario to branch out on his own and in 2005; he opened his own real estate company which he built to a 40 agent force that broke every real estate sales record in the heydays until the market crashed in 2008. Suddenly, it became far more challenging to sell in a climate of fear, declining values and sweeping foreclosures. Mario closed the real estate office and branched out into a number of other businesses which he still operates today.
He realized in 2010 that the market was changing and opportunities to target a different demographic of second home and investment home buyers was the way to go. Today, Mario serves clients from the United States and South America. His ability to converse in English, Spanish and Portuguese is a bonus to his clients, both Buyers and Sellers.
